I have tried to install EnGarde on two identical machines without success. I have tried 3 different downloads and 2 methods of burning the software to disk.
The software installs and prompts for a reboot then i get the letters li in the corner of the screen and nothing else happens.
Any help you can give me would be great.
The machine specs are below.
Compaq EVO D310
512 mb ram
20gb hard disk

Getting "LI" can mean 2 things that i can think of
1. Your Linux partition is beyond cylinder 1024 on your hard drive. Linux has a limit, it can't be any farther down on your drive. I don't remember exactly, but I think it's equivalent to the first 4 GB on your drive.
2. You removed Linux, but not LILO, in which case, there's nothing for LILO to boot, so it just sits there. This can be fixed by booting off your windows boot disk and then issuing the comand 'fdisk /mbr' (without the quotes.), which will rewrite the master boot record and kill LILO.
If you deleted the Linux partition, I think 2. applies to you.
