Automatically loading kernel modules at boot?

Postby epretorious on Fri Mar 06, 2009 8:40 pm

The Intel 82547EI Gigabit NIC's on my system's mainboard aren't recognized at boot time (but I am able to load the e1000 module manually and then configure the interface afterwards).

How can I make the e1000 modules load automatically at boot time?

Put the line:

Code: Select all
alias eth0 e1000

into /etc/modprobe.conf, run depmod -a, and you should be good to go.
