Linux FS calls unlink / remove AutoWiping

Postby s1sw on Fri Apr 22, 2011 1:30 pm

Hello everyone!
I'm new to the forum and am here to ask help from some linux guru :)

I need my linux box to act so that any deleted file gets wiped instead of removed.

In my specific case it is not just about making "rm -f id.eml" act as the "wipe -f -s -Q 5 -S r id.eml" as this would be achievable exchanging rm with wipe or using a script.

I need an application running on the box, that uses standard linux filesystem calls (open, creat, close, read, write, lseek, unlink, remove, fcntl, stat), to continue using the same command to the filesystem, but to make it so that unlink / remove calls actually make a wipe on the file.

A guy suggested a Virtual File System Layer to deal with this.

Does anyone here have some hints or ways to deal my task?

Thanks very much :)

PS here is my question open on EE.
