GDSN registration

Postby green on Tue Sep 11, 2007 5:48 am

I installed yesterday latest version 3.0.16 but when I connect to web management interface and try to register to GDSN a popup tells me that it was not possible.
"We're sorry but an error occured while trying to create a GDSN account. Please try again later and contact Guardian Digital if you have any further trouble." is the message the come up

I configured the host network interface which seems to be working fine since I can connect to it.

Any clue for solving it?

hi
Are you creating a new registration account or using a existing one?

Are you able to ping a external website for example google.com from your EnGarde machine?

Are there any firewalls that could be blocking port 443 the host from registering?

For more help please read the below link.

I don't know how to do it from the installed system since I didn't configured the root account password yet, and the default `lock&%box' does not work.
UPDATE:of course! it was `lockbox' instead.

I should try from the live cd nonetheless. Perhaps my residential gateway doesn't resolve names for it.

No firewall blocking on 443 port

UPDATE: now it works fine: it had to be something wrong on the gateway part.

hi

Glad to hear that it's working. Sounded like the problem was that your EnGarde
machine did not have internet connection. And by setting up the right gateway
allowed your machine to talk to the Internet.
