mail relay

Postby chrysmon on Tue Sep 18, 2007 4:57 am

Hello,

We are using EnGarde for more than half a year as ftp server without any problem.
Please help us to configure EnGarde as mail server to perform the following actions:
1. download (fetchmail) emails from the ISP into local mailboxes and forward them to the correspondent mailboxes of the internal mail server
2. forward all emails from the internal mail server to the ISP mail server

Actually the configuration of fetchmail is not a problem.

Thanks in advance!

hi
1. download (fetchmail) emails from the ISP into local mailboxes and forward them to the correspondent mailboxes of the internal mail server
2. forward all emails from the internal mail server to the ISP mail server

First you will need fetchmail to pull down mail from your ISP's mail server.
Then you will need to set up a postfix server to accept messages and delivers them to the right place.

I recommend reading the below how-to's first before trying to setup postfix. You can skip the section on
how to install postfix because postfix is packaged with EnGarde. It also talks about how to do all this securely.
