Thanks Joel.
I guess I am a little behind the times. Like Mike said on the post to snort.org, definitely a loss for the community. I credit Partrick's setup guide as the hand that guided me so gracefully into the snort community, and I will forever be thankful. He was the perfect example of what makes the snort and other open source software communities so great.
